Virtual Model Railway Exhibition

The Cheshire Railway Modellers OO gauge 'club layout' is a collection of individually owned modules which can be assembled to create a larger layout at exhibitions.

Like its namesake Cheshire Lines Railway, the Cheshire Layouts Railway is a jointly owned undertaking.

Unless stated otherwise the layouts are based in Cheshire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester or Lancashire. For exhibition invitations and all other enquiries please click here.

Members' layouts available for exhibition

Mike Bragg - Mount Pleasant, a small OO scale and currently building a compact O scale layout. Mike is based in the West Midlands.

Dave Carson - Walmington Pier, HO scale (left) & an On30 microlayout under construction. Dave is based in Suffolk.

Trevor Coburn - German narrow gauge in O scale. Trevor is based in N Somerset.

Chris Gilbert - Modern American HO shunting layouts. Chris is based in N Worcestershire.

Ian Holmes - A selection of small layouts available for conventions and model shows (based in the Mid-West USA)

Bob Hughes - Ferrocarril Consolidado Pampa y Fernandez (On30) plus some other microlayouts.

Martin Jones - Abergwynant and Tryweryn. Two superb EM scale, small space, layouts based on Welsh branch lines in the diesel era. Martin is based in N Wales.

Richard Lacy - Lesspoint, a west-country terminus in OO scale. Richard is based in the West Midlands.

Mike Lenz - San Andreas Diesel Facility (HO scale), a modern loco shed set in California and Atlantic Road (OO scale), a British diesel shed with variable operating eras. Also 72nd Street (HO scale), a home layout based on an American freight yard.

Peter Marshall - Two Sisters Farm, an agricultural narrow gauge railway in 1:32 scale. Peter is based in Northamptonshire and also has an extensive HO scale American layout at home.

Nick Palette - has a number of portable layouts in HO and OO scales. These include British, German and American prototypes.

John Rodway, Romiley Methodist Railway Modellers - Several layouts available, in various scales, suitable for operation by younger visitors at exhibitions. Also the group's new O scale layout, Gillan and Brown, which featured in Railway Modeller, Sept 2007.

Jim Scott - OO Warmington DRS Depot, home for a collection of repainted modern diesel stock.

Dave Skipsey, Wirral Finescale Railway Modellers - Charlotte Road (P4) and Widnes Vine Yard (OO, left) both large layouts using DCC and computer control

Glyn Smith - Newton Moor TMD, a BR blue era diesel depot in OO scale.

Gerald Southern - a home based OO layout and a couple of portable N scale layouts which are available for shows.

Terry Tasker - Pitt Lane, an imaginary branch line of no specific period in OO scale and an American HO scale layout.

Paul Warburton - Beeches TMD, a modern diesel depot.

Nikki White - Challingbrook Motive Traction Depot (OO) and Tumbledown Wharf (O.14). Nikki is based in the south of England.

Dave Bentley - Three layouts under construction, one in the garden.

Tony Boon - Building a new home layout based loosely on Alsager.

Richard Brumpton - Two modelling projects, the first in Gn15 depicting a 15 inch gauge light railway serving a potato farm, and the other an American N scale layout showing Chicago in the 1950s.

Jordan Foster - Small layouts, but using O scale.

Stuart Fraser - The oldest operational railway in Newfoundland.

Bill Gates - Modesto, an American HO scale shunting layout, temporarily withdrawn from the exhibition circuit.

Mike Grant - European HO scale layout under construction.

Roy Harris - Wisconsin Rapids, an American HO scale micro layout. Conway, a north Wales landmark under construction and Wolf Creek Pass, American N gauge.

Mike McManus - Chestergate and Milne (OO) an extensive home layout.

Jim Mangels - Overseas member modelling American HO scale and planning a British OO scale layout based on the LNER in Scotland.

John Marsden - Constructing Marsdenby, a OO scale layout based on various practices from the 1830s, the dawn of steam railways.

Andrew Milner - A.Crumb, Mechanical Engineers, a Gn15 pizza microlayout.

Brian Mosby - Currently building a layout based on Necropolis, the south London cemetary station.

Colin Stanaway - Brewery sidings, a compact shunting layout in OO.

James Stanford - Overseas member with a large American HO layout.

Charlie Stewart - Troysdale is an O scale narrow gauge line with potential for realistic shunting.

John Teal - The RJR Branchline, John's railway empire in a garden shed.

Graham Thomson - Titchford, an N scale layout under construction, based in the Scottish borders.

Matt Wicks - Horsted Keynes, the Bluebell Railway's famous station modelled in OO scale.

Alan Wilson - Llandossit, OO home layout under construction with the railway built by Alan and the scenery by his wife.

Jack Woodhams - Buckley Steam Railway, a heritage line in OO gauge.

To keep this layout directory up to date it is required of members to remain active in order to maintain their listing on the Virtual Exhibition page. This applies especially to layouts listed as available for exhibition.
