The E.L.R. is a fictitious location based on a small island of the coast of the UK.
The railway circumnavigates the island from the main town of Eniware, where the MPD is located, and passes through the small harbour town of Eniport, which is the subject of the layout.

South Hern is based on the Cheshire Lines Railway. The layout is available for exhibitions, please see the email link below for enquiries.

Curbar is based on Midland Railway practice prior to WW1. It is on an imaginary line based in Derbyshire running from Hassop to Grindleford, a line that was proposed but never built.

Rolling stock is propriety, mainly modified, kit built and scratch built. All the buildings are scratch built, with the very odd exception, and are typical of the area, some are even actual structures found locally.
All signals are scratch built and are fully working. The layout is 10'6" x 5' and was started some 30 years ago. It did travel the exhibition circuit with some success, but now resides at home.
