Cheshire Railway Modellers

The second Cheshire Railway Modellers exhibition was held on Sunday 25th January 2009 at Crewe Heritage Centre. The event was attended by over 700 visitors and raised two thousand and sixty pounds for charity.

A big thank you is extended to all the exhibitors, CRM stewards and catering staff, CHC volunteers and, of course, to the fare-paying public for making the exhibition such a successful day.

A raffle was held, with the ticket sales contributing to the amount donated to charity. The prizes were kindly donated by Tony Boon from ID Backscenes. Winning tickets were bought by Mr Fowler from Newcastle, Mr Mawson from Chester, Mr Price from Burslem and Mr Longson also from Newcastle, each winner receives a ten feet long backscene. An additional prize comprising of a small diorama was also won, but claimed on the day and we didn't get the young lad's name.

This page is dedicated to the Cheshire Railway Modellers "club layout", a collection of individual modules assembled for the first time in full at Crewe. Photographs of layouts exhibited by individual CRM members and their guests can be seen on the next page.

We conducted a vote allowing members of the public to decide which module they liked best. The runner up was Summit (centre), built by Andrew Milner, and the winner was Mossley Terrace (right) by John Teal. Congratulations to both and well done to the other members who took part in the project. It was the first time this layout had been fully assembled, indeed it was the first time that many of the members had actually met each other face to face.
