The C.R.M. wagon tour, page 3

The wagon disappeared for a while, I was sure it had been packed to go to the Derby 08 exhibition but it never made it. Resigned to the fact that the old Tri-ang wagon had visited its last layout I decided to make a replacement as seen below. This wagon is a Lima body on a Wrenn chassis so is much better suited to actually running in trains than the original.

The first visit for CRM2 was the Park Hall Halt module of the "Bookends" layout designed for our 2009 exhibition.

However, the original wagon has since turned up again, as seen to the left, thus Park Hall Halt is number 86 in the tour.

Middleton Railway show, 2008.

The next outing for the wagon was on 6th July at the Middleton Railway in Leeds where it visited five layouts.

Grumbly Town (87 below left) and Shunting Puzzle (88 below right).

Vintage Tri-ang (89 above left), Sodor (90 above right) and Schonblick (91 below).

With thanks to the layout owners, Ian Lewis (Deltic Preservation Society), Andrew Johnson, Ian Dobson (and daughter) and Keith Neal for track access.

Telford Narrow Gauge, 2008.

20th July and the wagon went to Telford where it visited seven layouts.

92 Layout With No Name. 93 Big Cat Mine.

94 Stoney Middleton. 95 Aberfal Mining and Minerals.

96 Yellow Ridge Mining. 97 Tallyllyn Railway.

98 Box End.

Thanks, as ever, to the layout owners for granting track access. They are Harvey Faulkner-Aston, Steve Bennett, Malcolm Hine, Phil Davis, Nick Wright, Steve Thorpe & Richard Williams.

RMweb Members' Day, 2008.

The following weekend saw the wagon out and about again, this time at the Chasewater Railway for the RMweb's second annual members' meeting where it visited seventeen new layouts. I don't normally bother very much with the order of visits at shows but this event included the 100th layout in the tour so they are shown in chronological order. On the day I did not know which one would be No.100 as I had not posted Telford's pictures at the time of taking the Chasewater ones. As it happened Andy C's exquisite stonework on New Hey forms the backdrop for the wagon's 100th port of call.

99 Abergwynant.  100 New Hey.

101 Steinbeck.  102 Foundry Lane.

103 Port Pennan.  104 Chittle.

105 Fisherton Sarum.  106 Pallet Lane.

107 Summat Colliery.  108 Cogirep.

109 Deadwater Burn.  110 Pensnett.

111 West London Parcels.  112 Auchinraith.

113 Hungerford Road.  114 New Street.

115 Alloa Goods.

Andy York's lovely little train ferry was not built last time the wagon visited Keyhaven Quay (layout number 34 in the tour) so I have added this picture as an updated view and a finale to the Chasewater photos.

Thanks to Andy for organising the event and, of course, to the layout owners (Martin Jones, Andy C, Steve 1, Mark Forrest, Ken Gibbon, Pugsley, Graham Muz, 37114, Redgate Models, Barry Ten, Mines a Pint, Dave Long, Johnb, 56079, Tony Boon, Jim S-W & Angelus) for allowing the photos to be taken.

If the owners would prefer their real names where I have used forum names please get in touch with Yorkshire Pullman via RMweb's forum.
